The orginal sleeve: Only 50 copies were ever released, and on brown vinyl too. |
Born during Manchesters Indie scene, the Toilets (as they prefer to be know
as) consisted of Ed Riley and Tom Radcliffe (the ace drummer). They
released their first single 'Crap Shockin' Beats' as a backlash to all
the rock and pop bands addicted to LSD*(see NOTE below). Combining, well
literaly crap shocking beats and some talking inbetween, it was a hit in clubs
throughout the Northwest (most notably The Palace Nightclub in Levenshulme).
Although this was the turning point in the bands' career, they failed to release another record due to a big bust-up between the two long time friends. Tom commented 'That lardy arse twat (Ed) had one hell of a shit problem. Any person can only take so much shit in their lifetime....I was up to here (points to his knees) last time he used a toilet...It was like going up Shit Creek... The plumber refused to come round. I just couldn't face no more shit'. They never made another record and went their own separate ways. Tom currently works at the local Domestos factory and still lives in Manchester. Ed who refused to talk to us, is believed to be chief tester at the Andrex toilet tissue plant. He still has a major shit problem. Not so long ago a band named the Chemical Brothers released a number one hit called 'Block Rockin' Beats'. The similarity between them is surprising.
