Madder Rose - The Love You Save

How I came to love Madder Rose After going to see Madder Rose (April 97), I still remember the first time that Mark played the this most fantastic record. Possibly a member of my all time greats. The music simple and the lyrics pure, it is just fantastic. I paid nearly a fiver at the record shop just to hear it again, which I still do. Just as captivating as the first time I heard it. NOw I think about it 'Stop' is a cover version, but I don't know who by.

The Madder's album 'Panic On' is also full of great songs, with a neat touch, when the CD reaches track 15 it automatically zooms up to track 99 for a hidden bonus track. Smart..

De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,

When we played tag at grade school,
You wanted to be it,
But chasing boys was just a fad,
You crossed your heart and you quit,
When we grew up and traded,
You promised for a week,
Now just like in back in grade school,
Your doing the same old thing,

Stop, the love you save be your own,
Darling, take it slow, or someday you'll be all alone,
You better stop, the love you save be your own,
Darling look both ways before you cross me,
Your heading for the danger zone,

Isacc, said he kissed you, under the apple tree,
When, Vincent held your hand, he felt electricity,
When Alexander called you, he said he rang eight chimes,
When Cristopher discovered, your way ahead of your times,

Stop, the love you save be your own,
Darling, take it slow, or someday you'll be all alone,
You better stop, the love you save be your own,
Darling look both ways before you cross me,
Your heading for the danger zone,

S, S is for saviour,
T, T is for take it slow,
O, O is for oh my,
P, P is for like please don't go,

Stop, the love you save be your own,
Darling, take it slow, or someday you'll be all alone,
You better stop, the love you save be your own,
Baby, stop, stop, stop it now, Someday you'll be all alone,

De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
De de, de de dee, De de, de de dee,
