About...

Mark I won't give you all the usual history and stuff on where he was born and other bollocks. Not that I don't know it, but you can get at Radio 1's site.

The Mark Radcliffe Show started way back on October 28th 1993. The very first show featured Simon Armitage doing his poetry gubbins and the Tindersticks live in session. Over the years Mark and his hapless sidekick Lard have created some of the best moments in radio history. His shows consisted of ripping the piss out the proper pop stars, some great features, even greater tunes, memorable session guests, comedy so top that it stained the nations underwear and generally making it a brilliant show to listen to.

good Having recently done the Breakfast Show when Chris was skiving off, Mark has reached a wider audience, and showed the nation that he is one of if not THE Greatest DJ's to have ever lived. This page is dedicated to him and his comic genius ideas, but first I would like to say GOOD WORK FELLA!!! Instantly recognisable as being knabbed from LOADED magazine. The new Radio One Breakfast Show has started with quality items as Win a Van and the foremost toppermost quiz for proper pop stars We love Us, Max Beaverdon ,Celebrity Weather, and radio's toppermost quiz The Busy Buzzy Bee game. He still plays the same great music that he has championed throughout his memorable career. New items on the show include Alan Bawl who will get back at your mates for you with his squeeky voice, and the Rabbi Lionel Fanthorpe with Fortean Radio - the world of strange and weird stuff.

Now that Mark has been transfered to the 2-4pm slot we should see some new features, but I hope he keeps the Vinyl Vault.

So he's moved, and from the first few months or so, it's been looking good. Regular features include Crap Town Factor, Cheesily Cheerful Chart Challenge and funny interviews from around the world. The music is not that much better, but the show is alright. The Shirehorses released an album which entered the charts at 22, and a Graveyard Shift compilation is out. The futures bright, the futures Mark and Lard.

Other Gubbins about this site

All ideas and concepts in this site were either knabbed from various newspapers, magazines, brochures, crisp packets etc or just thought up in my brain. Nearly all the pictures, articles and lyrics have their respected copyrights which I may or may not have acknowledged.

Now for the technical bit. This site was orginally created on a PC and located at the Tripod web site in America at the end of 96. It was ported over to my University early 1997. Implementation of the site was done on Sun Sparc 20 workstations using Netscape 3.0 running on the Solaris operating system. The University has pulled off my site so from September 97, the kind people in the Geographical and Environmental Services research department have allowed me to put it onto their server whilst I work here. Thanks mates. Currently implemented using Netscape Communicator on Windows NT.

All artwork for the site is created using Photoshop 3.0 on my DX-2/66 at home.

You should be using Netscape 4 for best results, no particular reason except for the fact that I have used Netscape since version 1.

It's been great fun creating this site, and I hope at least it has been a little fun for you visiting it.

I've not updated this site for a while, due to the fact that there hasn't been anything worth putting up apart from some new adverts and songs that they've done. So in an attempt to add something new to the site I'll be putting some Fat Harry White transcripts sooner or later.

Okay, here's the story, I was going to put all the top stuff on this site but, a big but, someone has already done it so I can't be arsed really. Nice work anyway to all the people who got there before me. Actually only Tim and Neil got there before me. You will find a veritable smorgusboard of gubbins at these sites not found here. What's the point of doing the same things eh!!!
